Youth Engaged in Service (Y.E.S.) Community Service
Over the course of the school year Joyce Students will have opportunities to earn Y.E.S hours. Middle school children must complete 50 hours of community service by the end of eight grade to receive a special award. Children completing 150 hours of community service during their entire school career will earn a special Y.E.S award and be recognized at their high school graduation. Parents are asked to keep track of their children’s hours and submit them to the principal on an annual basis when requested (usually early May).

Laminating Books
Ms. Maney could use some assistance laminating the stockof paperback books in the library. Laminating the books extends the life of these books. Laminating can be done at home under the supervision of a parent. Please contact Ms. Maney for additional information.
