To all Woburn residents,

It is certainly no secret to anyone that our economy over the last 2-3 years has had a devastating impact on the job market and recovery has been slower than any of us would like. There are services out there for people that are out of work like “The Career Place” right here in Woburn, however, the job market has changed and continues to evolve, and the way people find jobs now and in the future is dramatically different than job-seeking of the past.

Therefore, Woburn’s Mayor Scott Galvin has asked one of our Woburn residents who is a noted expert in the field of career coaching and job search to give a FREE seminar on how to run an effective job search campaign and ultimately land the job you want.

Woburn resident David Kimmelman, who is Vice President of Avenue100 Media Solutions and GetTheJob.com (based in Woburn), has volunteered his services to present his “outside the box” and thought provoking workshop on career and job search techniques. David was recently interviewed live on NECN by Latoya Edwards, he has been published in the Wall Street Journal and other noted newspapers and magazines, and David has been a featured speaker on this topic at Bentley College, Boston College, Dartmouth College and numerous other venues. The workshop will cover the following topics at minimum:

·      How to prepare and manage a job search

·      How to research and find a job

·      How to create and promote your own personal “Brand” (so employers will notice you)

·      How to interview for a job

·      How to land the job

This workshop is FREE of charge to all Woburn residents. Whether you are currently out of work; thinking about a change in careers; you are a college student thinking about life/work after college; or you are just interested in learning for your future success, you should absolutely attend this 90 minute interactive workshop/seminar.

This Career Search workshop will be presented on October 26th, 2010 at Woburn Memorial High School’s Hodgson Auditorium from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM. There is no limit on attendance and we ask that you arrive starting at 6:30 PM so we can start promptly at 7:00 PM. There will be networking opportunities from 8:30 PM-9:00 PM and plenty of opportunity for questions and answers during and after the workshop.

In order for us to gauge attendance, please RSVP to woburncareerseminar@getthejob.com, and in the subject line please write: “Woburn Career Seminar”.

There will also be a drawing for three attendees to receive 1-hour of FREE career coaching from GetTheJob.com!
